Mel Ramos, originating from Sacramento, has earned his success as an artist showcasing his creativity and sense of humour. Ramos produced artworks that have been showcased along with the works of icons, such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, in significant exhibitions of Pop Art around Europe. As a result of Ramos' focus on the nude from 1966 onwards, his works became absent from many museums and exhibitions at the time, however, more recently there has been a strong market re-emergence whereby his demand has grown. Ramos' piece named "A.C. Annie" went to Sotheby's estimating to sell around £150,000 to £200,000. This piece proceeded to realise a remarkable £1,071,650.
